Creating links between business and social issues
The Hand in Hand initiative brings companies and social institutions together. Instead of working at their desks or in the workshop, employees from the business world spend a day redesigning the outdoor area of a residential home, cooking for senior citizens in a nursing home or renovating rooms in care facilities. Our commercial and industrial trainees swap their workplace for a social project for a day, gaining valuable experience outside their usual environment.
The initiative
The former "Building Bridges" initiative of the Braunschweig Community Foundation became "Hand in Hand" in 2024 in cooperation with the NEULAND Foundation.
Insight into our projects
In 2025, four of our trainees took part in the "School Holiday Creative Day" at the "West" leisure centre. Together with 12 children from our neighbourhoods, they painted watercolours, made pottery, created games and cooked.
We also prepared snack bags with tasty snacks for all the participants. We will be organising a "Hand in Hand" day again next year together with the NEULAND Foundation.
