A matter close to my heart
For NEULAND, social responsibility is not an add-on, but part of our mission as a municipal housing company. This attitude has been with us from the very beginning. On our 75th anniversary in 2013, we underlined this commitment with a special step: the establishment of our own foundation.
Close to the people
Since its inception, volunteers and employees of the foundation have been involved in their own projects that are closely linked to the residents of the neighbourhoods. The foundation is particularly committed to helping young and elderly people as well as those who are disadvantaged. This enables neighbourhoods to thrive and bridges to be built between generations.
Heart+Ear project
One of the NEULAND Foundation's projects is Herz+Ohr. For 30 years, the programme (formerly the Partner Visiting Service) has been bringing together volunteers and single older people who want someone to talk to. If the two get on well, they decide for themselves how often they meet: for a chat over coffee and tea, to go to a concert, shopping, playing games, doing handicrafts or going for a walk. Friendships have often developed from the regular visits.
Herz+Ohr was founded in 1996 by NEULAND together with Allertal Wohnungsgesellschaft and the city of Wolfsburg's senior citizens and care support centre. The NEULAND Foundation has been responsible for the organisation since 2018.
